Mrs. Jaclyn Vander Veen, LMFT, PPSC
I am honored to serve as your student’s school counselor. I have extensive experience in the mental health field, providing support and services to children and their families. Through this work, I have collaborated closely with school districts, community agencies, and local hospitals to help meet the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
I have had the privilege of presenting at the American School Counselor Association conference as well as the Alvord Unified Learning Summit. I was recognized as the 2018 Alvord Unified School District Elementary School Counselor of the Year, the 2023 Elementary School Counselor of the Year, and the 2023 District School Counselor of the Year. In addition, Terrace Elementary School earned national recognition for excellence in school counseling by receiving the RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) designation. This honor reflects a comprehensive, data-driven counseling program that aligns with the ASCA National Model.
As your student’s school counselor, I provide support in the areas of academic achievement, social-emotional development, and college and career readiness. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop healthy perceptions of themselves, and recognize their ability to learn and succeed.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to partnering with your family and supporting your student throughout the school year.
